Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't been on here much lately. I have a lot of crazy things going on in my life. I am hoping to have the house on the market for Christmas but I am not the only party involved so we will see. I have applied for university next year and I hope I get in. It has been so long since I studied...I hope I remember how. I have applied for a Dental degree

This time of year in Oz is so crazy, everyone wanting to get together for a party before Christmas. It has been rather warm lately high 30's with humidity. Great beach weather.
My sister is coming up for Christmas and we are going to spend as much time at the beach as possible. I have booked a campsite for 5 days by a beautiful fresh water creek in an awesome location for an amazing $50. How good is that!! I am hoping to see New Year's in this year at the Woodford Folk Festival which is only a 15 minute drive away through the forestry.
I had an interesting weekend in Canberra with family this weekend just passed. Was having a great time until a game of backyard badmington ended in injury....
My young cousin, Erin hit the ball into a tree above the fence and in typical Karen style I without thought climbed to retrieve the ball.... this is were the fun begins....I climbed the fence and up into the tree to retrieve the ball but made the stupid mistake of relying on one grip.... the one on the branch of the tree.....and as you can probably guess the branch broke and I fell backwards and impaled my bum on some rusty rienforced meshed (that was pushed into the ground along the edge of the garden to keep their rabbit off the garden) and followed this up with a backwards roll and then tried to stand on my feet.... I could put minimal weight on my left leg and in typical Karen style told everyone that I was alright. It wasn't until I was dripping blood on the lawn that I thought maybe someone should look at it. My poor Aunty was the lucky one and she was horrified. She wanted to take me to the hospital but again typical me, I said it was fine, took some painkillers and sculled two glassed of champaigne. In hindsight I probably should have gone to the hospital but I didn't want to spoil dinner. My injury continued to bleed all of the evening. I am going to the doctor's today.... better late then never I guess.
I am hoping I will be able to go back to work tomorrow. I am a bit disappointed though as I don't think I will be able to play touch footy for a while, but who knows we will see.
I hope you are all getting in the mood for Christmas festivities. I am planning on just making the most of all the tropical fruit in Oz for Christmas this year.....mangoes, lichees, peaches, apricots, plums, watermelon, cherries... YUMMMMMMM!!!!! Most Aussies do a seafood Christmas but I don't really like seafood... which is terribly slack as we have an awesome freshly caught market here in Queensland.
Have fun everyone and take care,

Karen
